Promoted to a the level of Director in recognition of my ability to deliver solutions within established timeframes and for working to continually improve the delivery methodology used by my teams.  Responsibilities include managing a team of 20+ Developers in South Bend and a technology team of 12 in China. Earned responsibility for a 60+ person distributed team responsible for the complete redevelopment of the corporation’s web site.  Built consensus and facilitated communication between the product owners and the technology teams as well as other groups, including the legal, order fulfillment, and product support teams.

 

Selected Contributions at Moody's Analytics:

  • Led team of 30+ technology resources in the US and China through the process of adapting to an Agile development methodology using SCRUM. Adopting Agile brought more openness to the project, allowing for more collaboration between key stakeholders and the project team.
  •  Increased software speed to market by more than 50%. Increased predictability of release frequency and delivered the most valuable features to the market with each release.
  • Organized multiple concurrent, interdependent work streams. Maximized the value to the organization by leveraging my skills across multiple project teams.
  • Established product roadmaps in conjunction with key stakeholders and delivery team senior management. The roadmap projected the year’s release schedule and themes of the releases, allowing sales teams to begin building pipelines for upcoming products.
  • Ensured items on the product roadmap were delivered according to the schedule identified in the roadmap. Met the established timeline for 90% of projects.
  • Guided teams from an environment that required manual build/deploy/test cycles to an environment that used true continuous integration and automated testing. Dramatically decreased defects in the final product due to instant feedback on code quality with each build.

  • Provide oversight the activities of the YMCA of Michiana. The Board oversees operations of the Michiana Family YMCA, Camp Eberhart, and Urban Youth Services.
  • Review and provide guidance related to the financial aspects of the YMCA of Michiana. Monthly reviews include the operating income and expenses, capital expenses, and investments.
  • Chaired the Strong Kids campaign for 2008. Funds raised are 100% directed to scholarships for children and families who could otherwise not take advantage of the programs and activities offered by the YMCA. The 2008 campaign generated over 30% more contributions than the 2007 campaign.
